Therapy for High School, College, & Career Transitions
in Boca Raton & Telehealth Nationwide
Leaving high school for college, finishing college and stepping into a career, or even switching jobs or cities as a young adult can bring up a lot more than people expect. These transitions are often talked about as exciting milestones, but they can also come with real stress: a loss of structure and routine, distance from friends and family, uncertainty about the future, and pressure to have it all figured out.
What This Can Look Like
For the students and young adults I work with, this stage of life often brings up:
-
Anxiety about starting somewhere new, whether it's a campus or a first job
-
Homesickness or feeling disconnected from friends and family
-
Pressure to choose the "right" major, career, or path
-
Identity questions, figuring out who you are outside of school or your family's expectations
-
Feeling overwhelmed or burnt out from balancing academics, work, and a social life
-
Uncertainty and self-doubt about what comes next
None of this means something is wrong with you. Big transitions are genuinely hard, even the ones you're excited about.
My Approach
I work with high school students preparing for college, college students adjusting to a new environment, young adults navigating the shift into their careers, and adults working through challenges in their current profession. Therapy with me is conversational, not clinical or overly formal, so that it feels like talking to someone who actually gets what you're going through.
Together, we'll work on:
-
Building coping tools for the stress and uncertainty of a new chapter
-
Untangling which expectations are actually yours versus everyone else's
-
Strengthening confidence and independence as you navigate new responsibilities
-
Staying connected to a sense of yourself through a period of a lot of change
Telehealth Makes This Easier
Since so much of this life stage involves being somewhere new, I offer telehealth sessions across 40+ PSYPACT states. That means if you're heading off to college or moving for a new job, you don't have to lose continuity with a therapist you already trust, and if you're just getting started, location doesn't have to limit your options.
Getting Started
If a transition is feeling heavier than you expected, or you just want support as you figure out this next chapter, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to talk it through and see if we're a good fit.
